1. $14,600,000 jury verdict, $9,490,000 net: INDUSTRIAL ACCIDENT
     56 year old man suffered a forklift accident, causing a fractured pelvis and internal injuries. There was NO OFFER before trial. Verdict included 2.5 million for the damages to the marital relationship (loss of consortium).

2. $4,940,00 jury verdict: WRONGFUL DEATH
     A motorcyclyst was killed when a company rental truck pulled in front of him; attorney Basile represented the wife of 25 years and 2 adult children. Before trial, the corporate defendant offered only $500,000.

3. $2,500,000 settlement: WRONGFUL DEATH
     A 17 year old woman died instantly when she was struck by a Toyota car carrier that backed out into traffic from a dealership. Toyota's defense counsel stated this was the highest settlement ever paid by Toyota for the wrongful death of a woman of that age.

4. $2,000,000 jury verdict: WRONGFUL DEATH
     The jury found a government entity responsible for a dangerous condition of public property that wrongfully caused the death of a 17 year old.

5. $2,000,000 settlement: excessive force, civil rights: BRAIN INJURY
     San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Department officers struck the 18 year old plaintiff with a baton, causing mild traumatic brain damage. Case settled two months before trial in the U.S. Federal Court Central District in L.A. on complaint for excessive force and civil rights violation.

6. $1,500,000 Jury Verdict for non-economic damages: WRONGFUL DEATH
     In a case for the wrongful death of a sixteen-year old girl, the jury awarded $4,816 for burial expenses, then added $1,500,000 for non-economic damages (mental and emotional distress) to the child's mother.

7. $1,200,000 Jury Verdict: BRAIN INJURY
     An industrial salesman fell off an unsecured scaffold at a job site. He suffered a "mild traumatic brain injury."  There were no settlement offers before trial, when Jude Basile was in associated as trial counsel and obtained a $1,200,000 jury verdict.

8. $2,100,000 Jury Verdict: BRAIN INJURY
    A 21-year-old college student suffered a brain injury but went on to attain the Dean's List. Nonetheless, Jude Basile was able to obtain a $2,100,000 settlement.

    The 13-month-old daughter of a low-income Hispanic family fell through a stair railing and suffered a head injury. 10. $1,100,000 Jury Verdict: HEARING DAMAGE.
    A 57-year-old man suffered tinnitus (ringing of the ears) and sensitivity to noise after he worked in a large loud turbine at a nuclear power plant. The power company denied responsibility for failing to provide a safe workplace and offered only $70,000 to settle. The $1.1 million verdict obtained by Jude Basile is the highest verdict known for this type of injury.
