FREQUENTLY
ASKED QUESTIONS
1. What are your fees?
Cases
are usually accepted on a "contingency
fee basis." This means attorney fees are
based on a percentage of any settlement or award.
The percentage varies from 25% to 40%, depending
on whether and when the case can be settled,
or if it must go to trial.
2. Are there any additional
costs?
Litigation
can be very expensive with costs of court reporters
for depositions, private investigators, and
expert witnesses such as doctors, engineers,
economists, rehabilitationists and others. The
Basile Law Firm may advance these costs for
you if you are unable to afford them. We have
advanced many costs on cases and will continue
to do so in order to obtain justice. You are
kept fully informed about all costs throughout
the case.

4. Do you work with other

J.
Jude Basile works with other law firms in three

fee per the California (or other state's)
Rules of Professional Conduct.
J. Jude Basile
has developed sophisticated
trial and trial preparation techniques both
on his own and in conjunction with his working
teaching other attorneys at the Trial Lawyers
College, founded by attorney Gerry Spence. When
working as a consultant or co-counsel, he
shares his methods, which involve the attorney
deeply immersing himself or herself in the client's
story and the stories of other parties, as well
as striving to understand what the potential
judge and jurors will think about the case.
These methods may involve reenactment, focus
groups, and other modern techniques that support
the attorney in creating the best trial presentation
possible.
